Meet a warm and welcoming host family in a cozy and traditional Portuguese home. Paulo, Susana and their two children will be expecting you with some classic Portuguese appetizers and a glass of wine. Expect a very local and authentic culinary experience in a family atmosphere, with Paulo and Susana sharing lots about Lisbon's history, culture and food scene. After a welcome appetizer and drink, join Paulo and Susan in their kitchen to learn to prepare four traditional Portuguese dishes. Paulo will explain the origin of a few delicious Portuguese wines that are made near their home. During your hands-on cooking class you will learn to make two traditional Portuguese dishes from scratch in addition to helping prepare a couple of additional dishes. Learn the techniques involved in cooking Portuguese cuisine during your cooking lesson which will last about two hours. Later join your hosts at the dining table to enjoy the meal you helped prepare.
Private Tour Half-day Southwest Madeira
The south west Madeira half day tour begins in Prazeres. Here we have a huge rocky scene that is typical Madeira, here we visit the Farm Animal and try its famous Jellies. Travel in an open roof 4x4 to the southwest of Madeira. Taking the old roads your guide will show you the village Campanário with its overlooking terraces and cliffs. Continue up to Paúl da Serra at 1500 meters to see rocks formed by volcanoes and flattened by erosion. See the landscape marked by centuries of footsteps that peasants took, carrying and leading their animals and their products from one side of the Island to the other. Visit the northwestern part of the island starting in the São Vicente caves, heading to the beautiful natural pools of Porto Moniz.
