General Sherman, the Biggest tree in the world – King's Canyon & Sequoia National Park

The beauty of King’s Canyon rivals Yosemite, minus the crowds. It’s sister park Sequoia National Park is also home to the largest tree in the world, the General Sherman Tree. Most of the park can be covered in a single day. Our favorite top 5 spots that we covered in 1 DAY are:

  1. Grizzly Falls
  2. Roaring River Falls
  3. Grant Grove with General Grant Tree (second largest tree in the world at 268 ft tall!)
  4. General Sherman Tree (the largest tree on earth by volume and Congress trail)
  5. Moro Rock (6,725 ft elevation but only 300 ft hike to get to the top)

First 3 spots are on King’s Canyon Scenic Byway – you can do this drive in one day in a leisurely pace with a picnic stop for lunch. Last 2 spots are on Generals Highway – you could combine that with Scenic Byway in the same day, but if you have time, spending the whole day here would be the best.
